Consultant for Ho Chi Minh City Sewerage Master Plan Update and Adjustment (Package TV-09) under Second Ho Chi Minh City Environmental Sanitation Project
Narrative description of the Project:
The Second Ho Chi Minh City Environmental Sanitation Project (HCMCES-2, is a World Bank funded project with a total project budget of 500 mil. $. Main components of the project are as follow: Component 1: Interceptor – a large diameter pipe (about 3.2 meters in diameter; length of about 8 kilometers) that will convey the wastewater that is currently being discharged on the east side of the Saigon River without treatment to the wastewater treatment plant in District 2; Component 2: Wastewater Treatment Plant, treating the wastewater collected in the NLTN basin and in the D2 areas. The plant is being designed for a capacity of 480,000 m3/day; Component 3: Sewerage in District 2 Area – an additional! sewers and interceptors will be installed in three areas of District 2, with wastewater thus collected to be transferred to the Interceptor or directly to the WWTP; Under this large scale project there was an international package: Preparation of specialized urban master plan for storm drainage and sewage system covering in Ho Chi Minh city’s entire areas, from present to 2030 and 2050 based on the updated master plan in HCMC. This package was delivered by the Consortium of Sweco Denmark, Nihon Suido Consultant Co., ltd and VSDI. The local Consultant (VSDI) had successfully provided a full service of the topographical, hydrological, water quality sampling and analysis and measurement of cross-sections of the rivers/canals network system above and under the water, survey of the 17,500 manholes and 927 km sewer system as well as provided technical inputs for HCMC master planning for storm drainage and sewage system |
