Vietnam Urban Water Supply Development Project 8 provinces & 3 cities, VN WB 36,000 USD Jan 2011 – Jun 2012
The Government of Vietnam and the World Bank have approved a new urban water supply project for implementation starting in 2005. The content and concepts of the Project have been presented by the Management Board of the Ministry of Construction in a Pre-feasibility Study Report (February 2004) and by the World Bank in a Project Appraisal Document (August 2004).
The project cost is USD 135 million and is expected to provide new water services to around 900,000 people and to improve service delivery to 500,000 people through improvement of management of water networks.
The project is novel in a number of ways, both in terms of technical approach and in its implementation.
Phase 2: 30 sub-projects in 08 provinces (Ha Tay, Hai Duong, Thai Nguyen, BacNinh, Thanh Hoa, Quang Nam, Lam Dong, DaKNong) under the Competition Route and 03 sub-projects in 03 cities and provinces under Performance Route (TP HCM, QuangNinh, Ha Tinh) are under implementation.
