A EUR 20 millions Credit Convention was signed by and between French Development Agency (AFD) and the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in November 2011. The funding is on-lent to Can Tho City Development Investment Fund (CADIF) and Da Nang City Development Investment Fund (DDIF) with the purpose to improve the living conditions of the population living in urban areas, as well as to call for a greater attention to climate changes’ impacts (social and environmental risk management, reduction of impacts on ecology and energy, etc.).  Specific objectives of the project funding for CADIF and DDIF include:A EUR 20 millions Credit Convention was signed by and between French Development Agency (AFD) and the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in November 2011.   • To support territorial planning projects of these two type-one cities;
  • To support structuring of Municipal development investment funds which are local financing agencies for investments of the two cities;
  • To finance typical projects (socio-environmental impacts and processes, carbon emission reduction, etc.) In order to obtain above mentioned objectives and implement sucessfully funding towards relevant and feasible strategic projects of the Funds, AFD provided a non-reimbursable grant for the development investment funds of Can Tho and Da Nang. This granted aid is to help these funds conduct institution strengthening and capacity enhancement project with the aim at structuring procedures and capacity of the three following beneficiaries;
  • Two municipal development investment funds (direct beneficiaries);
  • Relevant technical departments of the People’s committee of Can Tho City and Da Nang City (governing bodies of the two funds);
  • Clients of the two funds (owners of the infrastructure and facilities projects funded by the two funds).
